Yes. Your resume is encrypted at the field level in our database, used only to generate your matches and tailored content — never shared or sold.

How is this different from just checking LinkedIn or Indeed myself?

We do the searching and filtering for you — AI scans multiple job boards overnight, scores relevance against your background, and hands you a short ranked list instead of hundreds of results. Every match comes with resume bullets already tailored to that role.

Your Perfect Job ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our AI-powered job search assistant service ("Service").

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Account information: Name, email address, and authentication credentials when you create an account
Profile data: Target job roles, preferred locations, minimum salary requirements, and key skills
Resume content: The full text of your resume, which you paste into your profile
Job preferences: Filters and preferences you set for job matching

Information Collected Automatically

Usage data: Daily job match counts, resume tailoring counts, and digest email delivery status
AI processing logs: Records of AI model usage including token counts and costs, used for budget enforcement and service improvement
Authentication cookies: Supabase session cookies required for account authentication

Payment Information

Payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses) is collected and processed directly by Stripe, our payment processor. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. We receive from Stripe only your subscription status, billing period, and a token reference to your payment method.

2. How We Use Your Information

Job matching: Your profile data, skills, and preferences are used to filter and rank job listings from third-party sources
AI processing: Your resume text and profile information are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate job relevance scores, match reasoning, and tailored resume bullet point suggestions
Email delivery: Your name and email address are used to send daily digest emails containing your job matches via Resend
Subscription management: Your account information is used to manage your subscription and billing through Stripe
Service improvement: Aggregated, anonymized usage data may be used to improve the Service
Budget enforcement: AI cost tracking data is used to enforce per-user monthly processing budgets

3. How We Share Your Information

We share your information with the following third-party service providers, solely for the purpose of operating the Service:

Anthropic (Claude API): Your resume text, skills, and job listing data are sent to Anthropic's Claude AI models for job filtering (Claude Haiku) and resume tailoring (Claude Sonnet). Anthropic processes this data according to their privacy policy. Data sent to the API is not used by Anthropic to train their models.
JSearch and Adzuna (Job APIs): Your target roles and locations are used to query these job listing aggregators. We do not send your resume or personal information to these services.
Resend (Email): Your name and email address are shared with Resend to deliver daily digest emails.
Stripe (Payments): Your email and payment information are processed by Stripe for subscription billing.
Supabase (Database): All account and profile data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database with row-level security enabled.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not share your information for advertising purposes.

4. Data Retention

Active accounts: Your data is retained for as long as your account is active and your subscription is current.
Canceled accounts: After subscription cancellation, your profile data and match history are retained for 90 days to allow for re-subscription, after which they are permanently deleted.
AI processing logs: Cost and usage logs are retained for 12 months for billing reconciliation, then anonymized.
Account deletion: You may request complete deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: You may update or correct inaccurate personal data through your profile settings or by contacting us.
Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal data. We will comply within 30 days, subject to any legal retention requirements.
Portability: You may request an export of your personal data in a machine-readable format (JSON).
Opt-out of AI processing: You may opt out of AI-powered features, though this will effectively disable the core functionality of the Service. Contact us to discuss alternatives.
Unsubscribe from emails: Every digest email contains an unsubscribe link. You may also manage email preferences through your account settings.

AI purpose: Your Perfect Job uses AI to filter job listings based on your profile and to generate resume bullet point suggestions tailored to specific job descriptions.
AI does not make employment decisions: Our AI does not make hiring decisions, screen you out of job opportunities, or determine your eligibility for employment. It is a search and content generation tool only. The decision to apply to any job, and what content to include in your application, remains entirely yours.
Human oversight: All AI-generated content is presented to you for review and editing before use. You are the final decision-maker on all content submitted in job applications.
Data correction: You may update your profile, resume, and preferences at any time through your account settings, which directly affects how the AI processes your information.
Right to appeal: If you believe the AI system has produced inaccurate or biased results, you may contact us at privacy@yourperfectjob.app to report the issue and request human review.

9. Cookies and Tracking

Your Perfect Job uses only essential cookies required for the Service to function:

Authentication cookies: Supabase session cookies that maintain your logged-in state

We do not use marketing cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not engage in cross-site tracking.

10. Security Measures

We implement the following security measures to protect your data:

Encryption in transit: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS
Encryption at rest: Data stored in our database is encrypted at rest through Supabase's infrastructure
Access controls: Row-level security policies in our database ensure users can only access their own data
API key management: All third-party API keys are stored as server-side environment variables and are never exposed to the client
Authentication: User authentication is handled through Supabase Auth with secure session management

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Perfect Job is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
